The 1st United States Infantry was raised in 1784 when congress called for a regiment of U.S. Regular Infantry to be raised, the 1st U.S. Infantry fought in many famous battles such as, Chippawa, Lundys Lane, Plattsburgh, Cryslers Farm, Siege of Fort Erie, Burning of the Canadian Capital and more.
