Description
A blazing eye, the day's great golden crown, It climbs the eastern hill and looks on down. And with its light, a gentle warmth descends, On sleeping fields, on river paths and bends. It calls to life the petals and the vine, A gentle warmth, a bright and bold design. From sleepy roots, the thirsty plants will drink, And feel the power rising on the brink. It journeys high, a furnace in the blue, And chases shadows, making all things new. The world is painted in its honest sheen, On bustling streets and meadows, lush and green. As daylight wanes, its fervent colors glow, A crimson blush, a fading, final show. It sinks to rest beyond the western hill, Leaving the stars and quiet night to fill. Then in the dark, the lonely world can dream, And wait again for morning's hopeful gleam. A constant guide, a promise to the soul, To rise again and make the weary whole. A poetry of the sun.
