When Iraqi troops crossed the borders of Kuwait in August 1990, the Persian Gulf War, also known as Operation Desert Storm, was ignited. Saddam Hussein's aggression prompted swift international condemnation. The United Nations imposed economic sanctions, demanding Iraq's withdrawal. Efforts for a peaceful resolution failed, leading to a U.S.-led coalition, with support from various nations. This the group representing the Dutch Participation in the Persian Gulf War.
