Description
During the onset of the Cold War, the Civil Defense rose to the occasion and constructed nuclear shelters, practiced routine drills, and started a mission of keeping the average citizen aware of this new nuclear threat. With this came a steep cost to ensure the best measures were taken; a cost that the organization could not yet afford, and so the Civil Defense looked inward. What did they see? Corruption and organized crime plague American streets. To protect the homeland, something would need to be done to solve the issue of organized crime. Citizens joined the ranks from cities around the country, storming into crime-run businesses, giving them back to the common man, and in return keeping some of the profit. Every criminal organization removed from the streets leaves a big power vacuum; one that would be filled by the Civil Defense. Some call it extortion, and some say it's for the greater good and betterment of everyone in the country. In the end, is there a difference?
