In 1848, with the newly formed demand for passenger and US/royal mail travel, the International Maritime Company constructed a fleet of passenger, royal, and U.S. mail steamers in San Francisco and Liverpool. During the periods of the 1870s to the 1900s, the company was at its prime, doing weekly sailings from hotspots around the globe.
