Description

Chicago Fire Department Office of Fire Investigation ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ OFI reports annually on fire related incidents under five (5) general classifications: incendiary fires, accidental fires, undetermined fires, special investigations and no services. OFI staff is specially trained firefighters who utilize the most up-to-date techniques in fire investigation, in conjunction with local and federal law enforcement agencies. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ To become a Fire Investigator you must hold the rank of Lieutenant and apply when quarterly applications open. If you are accepted you must complete Fire Investigation School, as well as complete the Chicago Police Department courses of Law, Ethics, Control Tactics, and Firearms Training.
