𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐋𝐈𝐉𝐊𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐓 1930-1941 When World War II erupted in September 1939, most in the Netherlands believed that the country could remain neutral, as it had in World War I. The months of "Phoney War" following the German invasion of Poland seemed to justify this attitude. The Royal Netherlands Army did immediately mobilize in 1939, but was not in full strength until April 1940. Founded: 09/19/23
