COLLEGIVM LICTORVM The Lictors of Rome. Bearers of the fasces, lictors walk before the Emperor and the magistrates of the Roman state as their escort and bodyguard, under Emperor Claudius, AD 43. Every lictor serves a magistrate: the Emperor, the Consuls, the governors and the Praetors. Candidates begin as attendants and rise through the guild by loyal service. Only citizens of Rome may apply. Join requests are reviewed by the Decurio Lictorum. Senatus Populusque Romanus.
