𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 Österbotten Regemente The Ostrobothnian Infantry Regiment was one of the original 20 Swedish infantry regiments summoned in the Swedish constitution of 1634. Hailing from Finland and raised from the twin cities of Väsa and Oulu, Osterbotten is proud of its Finnish heritage and makes up the core regiments of the Swedish-Finnish Army. In 1741, it fought in the Hat's War against Russia. In the years 1757–1761, the regiment participated in the Pomeranian War and in 1789 in King Gustav's Russian War at the Battle of Parkumäki . In the Finnish War it was part of Johan August Sandel's brigade and fought, among other regiments, at the decisive Battle of Oravais. Österbotten faces a threat to east once again as it has many times, the mighty Russian bear awakens from its long slumber threatens Sweden and thus will be mobilized to Sweden's Defence.
