Description
The Judiciary is the third branch of Government. As per Article VI of the State Constitution, its ultimate authority rests with the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court of Mayflower. The Supreme Court is the highest court, and possesses both original and appellate jurisdiction; it also acts as the highest court of appeal and protectors of the Constitution. State District Courts are the lower tiered courts who possess original jurisdiction and are lead by a Chief Judge - whose authority is a lesser equivalent to that of the Chief Justice. - New Haven County District Court Supreme Court of Mayflower
