Royal Canadian Mounted Police "K" Division Alberta #33313309
Description
RCMP "K" Division is the Alberta division of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, responsible for providing federal and provincial policing services across Alberta. Its origins trace back to the North-West Mounted Police, which arrived in the region in 1874 to establish law and order. Following Alberta’s entry into Confederation in 1905 and the formation of the RCMP in 1920, the province was designated as K Division. Today, K Division polices rural communities, highways, and contract municipalities while supporting federal investigations such as organized crime and serious violence. The division is supported by specialized units including Emergency Response Teams, Crime Reduction Units, Police Dog Services, Air Services, and Serious Crimes units. Guided by the core values of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and respect, RCMP K Division is committed to protecting life, maintaining public safety, and serving Albertans with fairness and transparency.
