The Celtic Kingdom Of Iceni #33316455
Description
Rome was founded around 625 BC in the areas of ancient Italy known as Etruria and Latium. It is thought that the city-state of Rome was initially formed by Latium villagers joining together with settlers from the surrounding hills in response to an Etruscan invasion. The Punic Wars were a series of three intense conflicts fought between the Roman Republic and the Carthaginian Empire, from 264 BCE to 146 BCE. These wars were primarily driven by competition for control of trade routes and dominance in the western Mediterranean. The First Punic War (264–241 BCE) began over disputes in Sicily and ended with Rome’s naval victory, gaining control over the island. The Second Punic War (218–201 BCE) is most famous for the Carthaginian general Hannibal, who crossed the Alps with his elephants and achieved significant victories, though Rome ultimately triumphed. The Third Punic War (149–146 BCE) resulted in the complete destruction of Carthage, marking the end of Carthaginian power.
