Description
𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟒𝟎 It was founded in 1973 under the command of the Ministry for State Security, commonly known as the Stasi. The Airborne Regiment 40 was modeled on the Soviet Union's airborne troops and was tasked with conducting deep behind enemy lines in the event of a NATO invasion. In addition to its combat role, the regiment also provided a training base for other East German and Soviet airborne units.
