Description
The Absaroka Highway Patrol was established in September of 1961, following the enactment of the Public Safety Act, as a state-level law enforcement agency of the State of Absaroka under the Absaroka Department of Justice. In December of 1964, following an amendment of the Public Safety Act, the Absaroka Highway Patrol was restructured into an independent state-level agency separate from the Absaroka Department of Justice. Today, the Absaroka Highway Patrol continues to serve as a state-level law enforcement agency of the State of Absaroka, responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public order, and protecting life and property throughout the State of Absaroka, alongside commercial vehicle enforcement, executive protection, and major crimes, organized crimes, and narcotic investigations.
