Description
𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐍 ОТРЯД МИЛИЦИИ ОСОБОГО НАЗНАЧЕНИЯ СИЛА И ПОРЯДОК. (Force and Order.) OMON was a special-purpose unit under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union, tasked with high-risk internal security operations and the rapid restoration of public order. During the late Cold War period, OMON units were deployed for riot control, counter-criminal operations, protection of strategic sites, and decisive action in situations beyond the capabilities of regular militia forces. Trained for speed, coordination, and forceful intervention, OMON represented the state’s hard response arm within its borders.
