Description

Originally known as the sovereign Duchy of Courland and Semigallia, the Grand Duchy of Livonia became a sovereign state controlling most of the Baltic region in 1721. After the Great Northern War, the Grand Duchy was created and given to Frederick Wilhelm, Duke of Courland & Semigallia, for his key role in the war which could not have been won without him. The Grand Duchy stands divided between what alliances to make and which nations to support, with the court being split into 4 factions; The Pro-Russian faction, led by the Grand Duchess herself; The Pro-Prussian faction, led by the Grand Duke's mother; the Pro-Polish faction led by the Prince of Wiśnicz along with the Duke of Koszyrsk and finnaly the Pro-Western faction, led by the Duke of Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck. Each faction has different goals and ideas for what the Grand Duchy's future should look like, yet they are at their throats unable to determine which party should be victorious.
