Description
𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐘𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐒 "𝘚𝘐𝘓𝘝𝘌𝘙 𝘚𝘏𝘐𝘌𝘓𝘋𝘚" Following the death of Alexander the Great, his vast empire fell into a turbulent period of succession wars known as the Wars of the Diadochi. Among the various factions vying for power, the Argyraspides emerged as a prominent group of elite Macedonian infantry. Split allegiances and power struggles led to the Argyraspides becoming a mercenary force, sought after by rival successors and regional powers. Their allegiance shifted over time, serving different Diadochi rulers, including Seleucus, Antigonus, and Ptolemy. The Argyraspides played a significant role in the power dynamics of the Hellenistic world, adapting to the changing political landscape in the aftermath of Alexander's death.
