Description
S. C. P. I. Special Containment Procedures Initiative Construction of the Citadel began in 1921 with “Operation Underworld”, an excavation of the seabed along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. An extremely high concentration of Humes was detected between the plates, prompting the construction of the Citadel. Dr Gerald Dawson devised the groundbreaking Dawson particle accelerator to counteract the reality-altering Hume levels, a marvel of scientific ingenuity. As the world was engulfed in the greatest war humanity had ever witnessed, the Citadel emerged as the centre of Foundation operations. This pivotal transition occurred following the catastrophic destruction of nearly every SCP facility at the hands of the Chaos Insurgency, sanctioned by the Axis powers. Today, the Citadel stands, maintaining the eternal preservation of the Foundation. We die in the dark so that you may live in the light. We Secure, we Contain, we Protect.
