Description
The New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) is the country’s primary domestic intelligence and security organization responsible for detecting, investigating, and countering threats such as espionage, sabotage, and subversion against New Zealand’s national interests, while also providing protective security advice, conducting personnel-security vetting for government agencies, and cooperating closely with both domestic partners like the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) as well as international allies through the Five Eyes intelligence alliance comprising the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to ensure the safety, stability, and sovereignty of New Zealand and to provide intelligence assessments that support informed decision-making by the government.
