Description
𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 Following the Crimean War, the Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia united under Alexandru Ioan Cuza in 1859, forming the foundation of modern Romania. The union was strengthened through political reforms, and under Carol I of Romania, Romania won its independence in 1877–1878 and became the Kingdom of Romania in 1881.
