Description
𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐍𝐀𝐌 "People's War, People's Army." The Viet Cong was an insurgency that was nurtured and committed, strategically, from Hanoi. It wasn’t an army, per se, but they did emerge as combat organizations during the Tet Offensive, at which time 26,000 were killed in urban areas and another 50,000+ taken prisoner in various modes. This offensive deployment represents the Viet Cong army, per se. It was more like the January 6 insurgency, operationally, than the regular formations of the NVA with whom the VC were coordinated.
