"𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚" The East India Company was a joint-stock company and mega-corporation formed after receiving a royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I on 31 December 1600. The main reason of its formation was for pursuing and monopolizing trade with the East Indies and the Caribbean. Its main trades included cotton, silk, salt, and other supplies. The Company eventually came to rule large areas of India with its own private armies, exercising military power and assuming administrative functions.
