"Architects of a Longer-lasting Life." In 2023, wealthy philanthropists formed a “nonprofit corporation” called Umbris™, dedicated towards reducing the cost of health care. Umbris™ is entirely controlled by one person, the Director, and has ties to multiple political figures. After agreeing to fund an experimental care-worker android, the company became largely enthused with the advancement of AI technology. This enthusiasm led Umbris™ to purchase the production company, and refocus their efforts. By 2027 the corporation was completely "for profit". In 2028; the company entered a age of prosperity due to its technological advancement. However, the leadership focuses on short-terms gains instead of long-term survival. Umbris™ started targeting the wealthy elite by selling luxury products. By 2035, Umbris™ had fully introduced AI into day-to-day society. Astonishingly realistic replicas could be seen everywhere walking down the street, buying groceries, and working.
