𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐔𝐊𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄 Aдміністрації України Administracja Ukrainy In the early days of the Commonwealth, the Ruthenians, were treated on equal status alongside of the Poles and Lithuanians. however, the land shifted dramatically after the partition of the Commonwealth in late 18th century, which saw the division of Commonwealth by Russia, Prussia, and Austria. In the wake of these partitions, the Ruthenians found themselves marginalised. The Ruthenians and their fellow Commonwealthians, particular sought to resist the foreign domination and kept their rights. This collective yearning for freedom and self-determination culminated in the January Uprising of 1863, a significant insurrection against the Russian rule that aimed to restore the Commonwealth's former independence - despite it did not work out victorious on the case of Uprising, the brotherhood between Commonwealth was strengthened, later an oppressive era came under the Sickle and Hammer.
