Prince Vijaya Militia (PVM) Established in 1857 as a result of unrest in the subcontinent. The role of the Prince Vijaya Militia was to offer support to the Army of Kandy during times of war. But the regiment's main role was to give security to areas not regulated by the regular forces. The roles: - Provide vehicle support - Medical support - Engineering & sapper support
