The Septinsular Republic (Heptanēsos Politeia), was an oligarchic republic that existed during the Napoleonic Era under nominal Russian sovereignty in the Ionian Islands, it was the first Greek self-government state since the fall of the last remnants of the Byzantine Empire in 1453.
