Description
The 13th Army (also known as the 13th Corps or 13th Army Group during various reorganizations) was a high-profile mobile unit within the National Revolutionary Army (NRA). It is most recognized for its role in the final stages of the Chinese Civil War, under the command of Lieutenant General Li Mi. Following the collapse of defenses in central China, and with communist forces advancing into the southwest in late 1949, the remnants of the 13th Army, retreated into Burma (Myanmar) where they continued to defend against communist aggression and making retaking the mainland as their highest priority.
