Description

𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎 𝐈 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀 Legio I Romana played a role in both the First and Second Punic Wars against Carthage. During the Second Punic War, it fought in various theaters, including Spain and North Africa. It was present at the Battle of Zama in 202 BCE where the legion, as part of Scipio Africanus's army, played a crucial role in the defeat of Hannibal. The manipular legion was a flexible and adaptable organization that played a crucial role in the success of the Roman military during its expansionist phase.
