Description
ROYAL SICILIAN ARMY 1806-1815 The Armata Reale Siciliana (Royal Sicilian Army), also known as Armata Borbonica (Bourbon Army), was the ground contingency force for the Kingdom of Naples (Bourbon), and the Kingdom of Sicily. The army was founded in 1734 by Charles VII of Naples, the future king of Spain, after the war of Polish succession. The army would have heavy influence on the Austro-Spanish Army. The army partook in the French Revolutionary wars and the Napoloenic wars. The Headquarters was located in Naples from 1804-1806. From 1806 - 1814 the headquarters was located in Palermo due to the expulsion of the Bourbon Court from Naples by the French. During this exile to Sicily the army incorporated itself into the British Army.
