FiRe_NOOSE Former Governor General: LukiTrukix ═────────────────────────────────────────═ The colonization of Algeria by France began in 1830 with the capture of Algiers, followed by the gradual conquest of the interior territories over the following decades. Algeria then became a colony administered by France, organized around governors-general and a significant military presence, while European populations progressively settled there. Under the Second Empire, Emperor Napoleon III developed the idea of an “Arab Kingdom,” a political project intended to make Algeria an entity under French sovereignty while recognizing the existence of a distinct Arab country, maintaining local structures, and associating indigenous elites with the administration. The Zouaves are also based in Algeria and made of Algerians.
