Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad The North Shore Line, officially known as the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad, was an interurban electric railroad that operated in the Chicago metropolitan area. Spanning from 1896 to 1963, it connected the city with various suburbs and neighboring states, such as Wisconsin. The line was renowned for its high-speed and luxurious Electroliner trains, featuring streamlined designs for efficient and comfortable commuting. Despite its ultimate closure in 1963, the North Shore Line is remembered for its contributions to regional transportation.
