3rd Infantry Regiment ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ "Silence and Respect" ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ The distinguished ceremonial guard of the army, the 3rd Infantry Regiment, is in charge of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the most honorable and important tomb in the United States. The current responsibilities of the Regiment include, but are not limited to, providing funeral details at Arlington National Cemetery, watching over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, assisting with official ceremonies, and acting as a quick response force for the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
