Description
The fire protection for the township is provided by seven volunteer companies, which organized in 1960 as the Mecklinburg Fire Protection District. In 1980 the District became the Mecklinburg Fire & Ambulance District following the acceptance of local volunteer ambulance corps into the district's structure. Any resident aged 16 and older can join the district's companies by contacting the district regarding an application. The Mecklinburg Fire & Ambulance District's facilities house the Town Fire Marshal/Code Enforcement Inspector.
