Unione Italiana del Lavoro Est. 1950 The Italian Labour Union exists to protect and represent Italian and Italian-American families Members have to be of Italian descent however the Union does allow Non-Italians to become members through purchase of the membership, which is free for Italians. The Italian Labour Union or UIL (Unione Italiana del Lavoro) is a national trade union center. It was founded in 1950 as apart of a Social Democratic Republican movement and split from Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL, Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro). It represents almost 2.2 million workers.
