Description
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is established as a component of the DHS, to be led by an Under Secretary.. HSI is the principal investigative arm of the DHS, responsible for investigating organized crime, redacted and domestic threats. HSI’s mission is to investigate, disrupt and dismantle redacted transnational and other criminal organizations through targeted law enforcement operations and investigations. HSI’s operational priorities serve as the foundation of HSI’s investigative and operational focus. It will apply its unique authorities and capabilities to conduct complex and significant investigations into transnational criminal organizations. These efforts secure our critical infrastructure, protect national security and ensure the safety of our communities and citizens. HSI shall collaborate with federal and local partners to ensure the safety and well-being of our communities, and to address the threats posed by the violent gangs operating across the country.
