The Ottoman Empire [SOTT] #33847272
Description
The Eternal State ━━━━━━━━━━ Founded 2/9/24 ━━━━━━━━━━ When Mahmud II took power in 1808 in a coup against Sultan Mustafa IV, he would oversee the ceasing of hostilities against the Russian Empire, managing to cede portions of bessarabia, and promptly took the Ottoman Empire directly out of the Napoleonic Wars, starting an era of peace. Mahmud II would use this era of peace to direct the new age of Tanzimat, or westernization of the Empire, starting in 1813- an effort that would see the mending of relations between the Empire and its enraged inhabitants, restoring stability to the Empire and avoiding many almost inevitable rebellions. Following his death in 1845, his successors would see the continuation of these reforms, with an attempt to bring back absolutism in the early 1900s thwarted by the Committee of Union and Progress, the ruling party. It is now 1932, and the Empire thrives. ━━━━━━━━━━ Comms: .gg/TXnyCu5JrG
