𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝔾𝕖𝕠𝕣𝕘𝕚𝕒 "Empire State of the South" ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Georgia, considered by most to be the Confederate Capital state, was one of the first states to secede and contributed well over a hundred thousand soldiers to the war effort. Famous regiments such as the 5th Volunteer Infantry, Clinch Rifles, and the 1st Sharpshooters all hailed from the state of Georgia. After General Sherman's famous march to the sea, Georgia would sustain severe damage to its infrastructure and ultimately never recovered from the loss for the rest of the war.
