Description
𝕶𝖎𝖓𝖌𝖉𝖔𝖒 𝖔𝖋 𝕰𝖓𝖌𝖑𝖆𝖓𝖉 & 𝕴𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖆𝖓𝖉 Year: 1454 Ruler: Henry VI, Margaret of Anjou Capital: London Current place of court: Leeds Castle in the years preceding 1454, England was plagued by simmering tensions between the noble houses of Lancaster and Yxork setting the stage for the brutal conflict known as the War of the Roses. Rooted in the power struggles of the 15th century, the feud escalated from a series of political maneuvers and disputes over royal succession. The Lancastrian cause, represented by Henry VI, whose rule was marked by instability and ineffectiveness, faced mounting challenges from the faction, led by Richard, Duke of Yxork a formidable contender with a claim to the throne through his descent from Edward III. The rivalry between these two houses intensified as each sought to assert dominance over the English monarchy.
