Description
The Dutch East Indies, also known as the Netherlands East Indies, was a Dutch colony with territory mostly comprising the modern state of Indonesia. Following the Indonesian War of Independence, Indonesia and the Netherlands made peace in 1949. In the Anglo-Dutch Treaty of 1824, the Dutch ceded the governorate of Dutch Malacca to Britain, leading to its eventual incorporation into Malacca (state) of modern Malaysia. The Dutch East Trading Company or the VOC was the dutch expansion into Asia, Headed by the Dutch King The would have holdings in India and a lot of South East Asia. The Dutch king would assign a Dutch Military unit to them known as the "Indiaansche Brigade" Or the Indies Brigade. Motto: God leidt, we zijn veilig. Time Period: 1880
