By 1968, the town decided to incorporate this group into a municipal police department, which is currently headquartered at the Burnsville Town Hall. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Township of Burnsville by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the Constitutions of the State of Appalachia to enforce laws, prevent and detect crime, preserve the peace, reduce fear, and anticipate and respond to events that threaten public order and the preservation of life and property.
