Raised from the culture of Terran nobles, and later the orders of knights from Caliban, and then furthermore from similar cultures, the Dark Angels have a very medieval philosophy and design language when it comes to most of their appearances and mannerisms. It is, however, due to their honor and prestige that they are fanatically devoted even to their own bad habits, such as a disregard for self-preservation when it comes to preserving their image; in particular, the legion holds secret that a good chunk of their number had fallen to Horus during the Heresy - a fact still being obscured and dealt with fury.
