Description
On July 30th, 2002, in accordance with the decree of Vyacheslav President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), a regional medium-haul airline was established based on Sakhaavia and Yakut Airlines. On January 21st, 2003, the first flight of Yakutia took off on a TU-154M aircraft on the route from Yakutsk to Moscow under the "YAK" airline code. This was considered a significant event and marked the beginning of the airline's operations.
