Description
Raised in 1974 at Aberdeenshire, the regiment first saw action in 1799 in Holland, being stationed in Egypt in 1801. The regiment saw action once more in Portugal in 1808, and in 1809 was officially renamed to be the 92nd Regiment of Foot. The regiment saw majority of its action during the Napoleonic Wars in the Peninsular Campaign. The regiment embarked for the continent again in May 1815 for service in the Hundred Days campaign. The regiment had a key role in the Battle of Quatre B. Two days later the regiment was in action again at the Battle of Waterloo.
