Description
The Ares Freedom Fighters (abbreviated AFF) was the national militia of the short-lived Martian Commonwealth during its existence from 2087 to 2095. The AFF initially started out as a radical movement dedicated to gaining the independence of Mars from Earth. After the coup which overthrew the CAM and installed the Martian Commonwealth, the AFF was adopted as its military arm, consisting of both an army and a space-based navy and made mostly up of volunteers. The AFF fleet was decimated by the SDCN during the Second Battle of the Blockade, and the army was completely destroyed after UN forces engaged on the ground. Since then, the AFF has split into small terror cells spreading anti-UN sentiment all across Sol, although mainly focused on Mars.
