"Strength and V a l o r" Eventually, House R e y n e openly challenged their liege-lords, feeling that House L a n n i s t e r ' s rule over the W e s t e r l a n d s had grown weak under T y w i n ' s ineffectual father T y t o s L a n n i s t e r. In response, however, the capable young T y w i n L a n n i s t e r marched his forces against the upstart Lord R e y n e. At the end of the R e y n e Rebellion, T y w i n ' s army put C a s t a m e r e castle to the torch, and had all surviving members of House R e y n e put to the sword - man, woman, and child - as an example to any v assa l who would dare challenge the L a n n i s t e r s in the future. T y w i n subsequently had the corpses of the executed R e y n e s hung from the gates of C a s t e r l y Rock on public display, where he left them to rot for the entire summer
