𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐔-𝐘𝐔 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐔𝐍 OTTOMAN IMPERIAL ARMY 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 The Ottoman Empire would enter the Victorian Era with conflict, war would break out in 1853 because of a major territorial dispute over land, and growing Russian influence over the Balkans and Caucuses, aided by European powers the Ottoman Empire would win this war taking territories such as the Danube Delta and Southern Bessarabia. In 1877 war would break out again, with the Russians wanting to retake their lost territories and expand their influence the Russian Empire would declare war, this war would be a loss as major territories would be lost continuing a period of decline in the Ottoman Empire.
