Description
The Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) is the elite, primary infantry force of the Australian Army. Its core duties are to close with and destroy the enemy using fire, maneuver, and shock action, alongside executing complex peacekeeping, regional defense, and humanitarian missions. Units: Motorized / Mechanized Infantry (e.g., 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th/9th Battalions): Rapidly deploy and fight using protected mobility vehicles (like the Bushmaster or ASLAV) to strike deep into enemy territory. Amphibious / Light Infantry (e.g., 2nd Battalion): Conduct specialized operations from the sea to land, frequently working alongside the Australian Navy and Marines. Airmobile Infantry (e.g., 1st Battalion): Specialize in rapid deployment and insertion using helicopters and air transport.
