𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎 • 𝐗 • 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐒 TENTH LEGION OF THE STRAITS Founded by Augustus shortly before the Battle of Actium, Legio X Fretensis partook in the campaigns of Germanicus before being stationed in Syria to suppress revolts in Iudea under the reign of Tiberius and Vespasian. It would remain there for nearly fifty years. It is now stationed in Aelia Capitolina in the southern quarter of the city under the command of the Praefectus Iudaeae.
