Description
The Coventry Park Hotel was designed and constructed for the Earl of Coventry in 1898, by renowned architect Arthur Joseph Davis. Rumor has it the Coventry Park Hotel was constructed to attract holiday-seeking tourists to England and thus upstage the recently opened Ritz in Paris. This plan, whether it be true or false, was indeed successful. In the first annum, the Coventry Park superseded check-in rates of any hotel in London. The Coventry Park quickly became known to the general populous as the “Transatlantic Hotel”.
