The Army of the Koshaye Organized in 1775, The Rifles Corps was created by Daniel Morgan with the aim of defending the Thirteen Colonies. They differed from most active militias created in America at the time and engaged in various skirmishes against the British. As the Revolutionary War raged on, The Rifles Corps gained a reputation for their unmatched marksmanship and tactical prowess in the dense swamps of the Southern colonies. Legend has it that they earned their name, the Koshaye, from the Choctaw people who inhabited those murky lands. The Choctaw bestowed upon them the name "Koshaye," meaning "guardians of the swamp," in recognition of their ability to move undetected and strike swiftly against their foes. "Ad Victoriam Ex Machina, Non Sibi Sed Patriae" Victory of the Machine, Not for Himself but for his Country.
